    6553751, Apr 29, 2003
  • Filed:
    Feb 8, 2001
  • Appl. No.:
    09/779774
  • Inventors:
Eitan Weinberg - Fairlawn NJ 07410
  • International Classification:
    B21L 1700
  • US Classification:
    59 351, 59 80
  • Abstract:
A chain link for intertwining with other chain links to form a jewelry chain is machine formed by contouring the outer periphery of the link without any reduction in material volume while the link thickness is being compressed and reduced. The outer periphery is preferably machine contoured into an octagonal shape and the link is substantially flattened on all sides such that a cross-section taken through the contoured link is preferably substantially rectangular.
  • Jewelry Chain Link With Faceted Sides

    B21L 502
  • US Classification:
    59 80, 59 351, D11 13
  • Abstract:
A jewelry link is formed of a general planar configuration in which the outer sides of the link are formed of sculpted or faceted surfaces to enhance the reflectivity of the link and a jewelry chain formed of a plurality of the links.
  • Method And Apparatus For Making Hollow Seamless Links For Use In Jewelry

    view source
  • US Patent:
    61053570, Aug 22, 2000
  • Filed:
    May 31, 1995
  • Appl. No.:
    8/455192
  • Inventors:
    Eitan Weinberg - Fairlawn NJ
  • International Classification:
    B21L 100
  • US Classification:
    59 351
  • Abstract:
Method and apparatus for making hollow links or rings and for making chain made from hollow links by receiving seamless wire which has an inner core and an exterior surface, for example, a gold alloy surface, making a perforation in the wire so as to expose the inner core at the perforation, and forming the wire into an open or closed link such that the perforation is located on a hidden portion of the link. The inner core may then be removed from the open or closed link by dissolving it in acid, wherein the acid contacts the inner core at the perforation thus allowing the acid to dissolve the inner core. A chain may be made by coupling each link with at least one preceding link to produce the chain.
  • Soldering Machine For Rope Chain

    view source
  • US Patent:
    RE359432, Nov 3, 1998
  • Filed:
    Jan 21, 1994
  • Appl. No.:
    8/184670
  • Inventors:
    Eitan Weinberg - Fairlawn NJ
Aviad Ofrat - Franklin Lakes NJ
  • International Classification:
    B23K 3102
    B23K 300
  • US Classification:
    228212
  • Abstract:
An automatic soldering machine for soldering a rope chain comprises a pair of gears, each with a peripheral surface defining a trench which engages one of the strands of the rope chain and which is rotatable to precisely feed and place successive link junctions of the chain relative to hollow solder applying needles. The needles are reciprocally movable and serve to apply a premeasured amount of solder paste at the link junctions of the rope chain. A heater, for example, an induction heater, heats the chain, causing the solder to flow and then set and thereby secure the chain links together.
