Among his more well known efforts were the war film " Bataan ( film ) " ( 1943 ), Vincente Minnelli’s " The Clock ( film ) " ( 1945 ), Tay Garnett’s steamy version of " The Postman Always Rings Twice ( 1946 film ) " ( 1946 ), the epic special effects extravaganza " Green Dolphin Street " ( 1947 ), for which he was nominated for an Academy Award for Film Editing#1940s, and " Challenge to Lassie " in 1949.
