The TSA screens about 2,000 passengers a day at the Springs Airport, which jumps by 15 percent to 20 percent daily between Thanksgiving and New Year's, said Carrie Harmon, a Denver-based TSA spokeswoman.
Firefighters from across the state have been called in to assist with the Party Rock fire, said spokeswoman Carrie Harmon with the N.C. Forest Service. Some firefighters have been tapped from nearby southern states.
SA found a record number of firearms at airport security checkpoints across the nation. Firearms can only be transported on an aircraft in a checked bag, if declared to the airline at the ticket counter and properly packed in a locked, hard-sided container, said TSA spokesperson Carrie Harmon.
TSA spokeswoman Carrie Harmon says someone phoned in a bomb threat at about 7:30 a.m. Thursday. She says passengers had not begun boarding and the plane was towed to a remote location. Harmon says the passengers boarded another plane for the flight to San Francisco.
