  • US Patent:
    7733845, Jun 8, 2010
  • Filed:
    May 25, 2000
  • Appl. No.:
    09/579348
  • Inventors:
Christopher E. Pearce - Dallas TX, US
Clint D. Entrop - Plano TX, US
  • Assignee:
Cisco Technology, Inc. - San Jose CA
  • International Classification:
    H04L 12/66
    H04L 12/28
    G01R 31/08
  • US Classification:
    370352, 370401, 370216
  • Abstract:
A system for device registration replication in a packet-based network includes a first call manager and a second call manager that are coupled to the packet-based network. The first and second call managers each control one or more devices and store composite registration information associated with the devices. The first call manager communicates status information to the second call manager in response to a change in the control status of a device controlled by the first call manager. The second call manager updates the composite registration information stored by the second call manager in response to receiving status information from the first call manager.

  • US Patent:
    8199898, Jun 12, 2012
  • Filed:
    Aug 5, 2008
  • Appl. No.:
    12/185925
  • Inventors:
Roger V. Beathard - McKinney TX, US
Clint D. Entrop - Plano TX, US
  • Assignee:
Cisco Technology, Inc. - San Jose CA
  • International Classification:
    H04M 7/00
    H04M 3/42
    H04L 12/66
  • US Classification:
    379219, 37921201, 37922001, 37922101, 37922114, 370352
  • Abstract:
A call manager includes a first device process that controls a first telephony device and that receives a call request from the first telephony device. The call request includes a telephone number associated with a second telephony device. The call manager also includes a call control module that receives the call request from the first device process, and the call manager further includes a route list control process that is associated with the telephone number and that receives the call request from the call control module. The route list process accesses a route list to determine a port of a gateway device that can transmit the call request to the second telephony device. The route list process communicates the call request to a second call manager that is coupled to the packet-based network and that controls the gateway device included in the route list.
  • System And Method For Providing A Recovery Mode In A Session Initiation Protocol (Sip) Environment

  • US Patent:
    8254552, Aug 28, 2012
  • Filed:
    Jan 6, 2005
  • Appl. No.:
    11/031368
  • Inventors:
David C. Harton - Apex NC, US
Richard A. Frisk - Cary NC, US
Ho Bao - Richardson TX, US
Clint D. Entrop - Plano TX, US
  • Assignee:
Cisco Technology, Inc. - San Jose CA
  • International Classification:
    H04M 7/00
  • US Classification:
    37922103, 37920201, 370352, 455518
  • Abstract:
A method to be executed in a session initiation protocol (SIP) environment is provided that includes detecting, by a first agent, a potential lost connection associated with a signaling path. The signaling path couples a first endpoint and a second endpoint and is operable to exchange signaling data. The potential lost connection is associated with a call between the first and the second endpoint, the first agent being associated with the first endpoint. The method also includes communicating a reinvite to a second agent that is associated with the second endpoint in order to determine whether the call between the first endpoint and the second endpoint is active.
