The antenna system and method for dynamically controlling radiation patterns provides an assortment of radiation patterns to increase the performance of communication systems, such as trunking communication systems and cellular communication systems. One embodiment of the antenna system permits a user to manually select a desired radiation pattern from the assortment of radiation patterns. For example, the user may manually select a desired radiation pattern via a graphical user interface of a general purpose computer, or via a conventional telephone. Another embodiment of the antenna system and method tailors radiation patterns in response to factors such as the locations of mobile units, the channel assignments of mobile units, and the transmissions of particular mobile units.
Ferrite System For Modulating, Phase Shifting, Or Attenuating Radio Frequency Energy
The radio frequency ferrite system for modulating, phase shifting, or attenuating radio frequency energy has a resonator, a ferrite polarizer, and coupling devices. The coupling devices are used to couple radio frequency signals to and from an interior of the resonator. The ferrite polarizer generates magnetic fields corresponding to an applied voltage or current. To produce phase modulation the ferrite polarizer may be used to detune the cavity from resonance by changing the orientation of the radio frequency signal with respect to a protrusion in the resonator. The ferrite system may be used for phase modulation, switching radio frequency signals, and amplitude modulation by arranging the coupling devices in various orientations and by simultaneously changing the polarization of radio frequency signals with the ferrite polarizer. Another aspect of the ferrite system, uses a waveguide, a ferrite polarizer, coupling devices, and a combiner for phase shifting, phase shift keying modulation, or phase modulation.

Abstract:
A method or system for controlling a vehicle comprises entering a programming mode or a guidance mode based on user input to a switch. The user can enter a guidance program in accordance with a predetermined sequence of inputs of the switch by the user, where readiness for each successive input is indicated by a light source. A guidance mode is managed for controlling an implement height in accordance with the entered guidance program. A height sensor can sense an observed height or elevation of an implement of the vehicle (e.g., relative to the absolute target height of the implement above the ground). The observed height is controlled in accordance with the guidance program (e.g., the target height) if the system or the data processor is operating in a guidance mode.

A first signal generator is arranged to generate a first signal. A compensating null code circuit is configured to provide a null code. A multiplexer is capable of multiplexing the first signal and the null code consistent with a predetermined time sequence for expression of the null code in a produced precursor signal. A ranging code generator is arranged for generating a ranging code. A mixer is capable of accepting the ranging code and the precursor signal and outputting a locally generated reference signal. After down-conversion and digitization of the received composite signal, the code correlator can correlate the digital received composite signal to the locally generated reference signal to decode at least a first portion of the received composite signal, while leaving a second portion of the received composite signal undecoded.
