Abstract:

The present invention provides a modular imager having a service station assembly with a customized interface board, and also having a cartridge assembly with a customized rasterizer board and a customized pen driver board. The customized interface board has a controller that responds to an image signal having any one of a number of different standard interfaces, for providing an interface board image signal. The customized rasterizer board has a programmable logic device (i. e. firmware), responds to the interface board image signal, rasterizes the interface board image signal into a bitmap, and provides a rasterizer board image signal. The customized pen driver board has a programmable logic device (i. e. firmware), responds to the rasterizer board image signal, remaps the rasterizer board image signal, and provides a pen driver board signal.

Abstract:

A method for imprinting documents imprints visible printed matter on multiple pages of imprintable material and including visible control indicia in one of the marginal portions. The visible control indicia are scanned and data is transmitted to a computer which then imprints on the pages in invisible ink invisible control indicia associated with the visible control indicia. Subsequently, an energy source is applied to the invisible control indicia to render the control indicia discernable to a scanner. The discernable control indicia is scanned to generate data sent to a computer where it is compared with information stored in the computer to determine that the pages conform to stored parameters. Further operations on the pages in which the invisible control indicia are activated may be conducted by reading the data in the invisible control indicia.

Abstract:

A digital range measuring system utilizes a digital signal processing prosor in connection with a precision time standard to generate a unique, characterizing frequency signal for transmission through a medium such as a body of water, at precisely known time intervals wherein a received signal at a second, different DRMS performs a predetermined number of frequency domain analyzations on the received signal to detect the presence of a known, unique frequency signal representative of at least one originating DRMS. Each of the frequency domain analyzations are time identified so that the one frequency domain analyzation during which the presence of the known frequency is detected is used to determine the time of detection. A personal computer is coupled to the digital signal processing processor and uses the time of detection in calculating the range between the receiver and the originating transmission.

Abstract:

The present invention relates to an echo repeater/beacon system for use ooard marine vessels and platforms. The system includes a hydrophone for receiving an incoming acoustic signal from a remote station, an on-board computer for analyzing, detecting, shaping, collecting and storing up to 10 seconds of a shaped version of the incoming signal for later transmission as an echo signal, and a transmitting transducer for transmitting the echo signal. The on-board computer also is used to generate a beacon signal at a desired frequency and a desired repetition rate.
