A ceiling fan () is disclosed having a motor () and motor housing () suspended from a ceiling by a downrod (). The motor rotatably drives an annular array of blades (). The ceiling fan also includes a tubular screen or shroud () mounted about the motor housing and blades so as to substantially conceal a large portion of these components from view.
