Abstract:
A cooking tray (optionally interstices-defining, microwave-transparent and providing an appropriate view factor) has a one-piece, integral, unitary construction formed of a food-grade, non-stick material suitable for use in a rapid cook oven which cooks by a combination of at least two heat transfer mechanisms selected from the group consisting of radiant heat transfer, convection heat transfer and microwave energy transfer. The construction defines a base and an upstanding peripheral sidewall about the base for the collection of solid debris created during cooking. Preferably the material is food-grade fiberglass with a non-stick coating.

Abstract:
The present invention relates generally to a selection process that is facilitated by a multi-modality controller. The selection process and knob are particularly useful in connection with an oven or other cooking appliance, but the knob and screens described herein can be used with any electronic component that requires a user to select various operating modes.

Abstract:
An oven for cooking a food product, at least partially by hot gas flow and at least partially by microwave energy, includes a housing defining a cooking chamber for receiving a food product for cooking, and a conduit for providing gaseous communication outside of the cooking chamber, between the chamber bottom and the chamber top, the conduit also serving as a hot gas plenum. Preferably the conduit has a free volume of space less than the free volume of space of the cooking chamber, and the oven has custom cooking and/or custom finishing capabilities.

Abstract:
A recycling cooking oven for cooking food at least in part by hot air flow and providing a substantially closed but vented environment includes a cooking chamber for receiving a stream of hot air from an upstream thermal plenum via a plurality of openings in the cooking chamber, the cooking chamber cooking food therein at least partially with hot air from the plurality of openings and the cooking of such foods adding oxidizable components to the hot air. A blower circulates the stream of hot air in substantially a continuous travel path including the thermal plenum, the plurality of openings and the cooking chamber. A main catalytic converter is disposed in the continuous travel path for flamelessly oxidizing the oxidizable components leaving the cooking chamber. A vent communicating with ambient atmosphere and the main catalytic converter diverts an auxiliary vent stream of hot air from the main catalytic converter into the vent; and an auxiliary catalytic converter is disposed in the vent, downstream of the main catalytic converter, for flamelessly oxidizing oxidizable components in the hot air of the auxiliary vent stream passing through the vent, thereby to further remove oxidizable components from the hot air of the auxiliary vent stream and so release a relatively clean auxiliary vent stream of hot air from the vent into the ambient atmosphere.
An induction cooking system including a first shell including a first housing, a first plate coupled to the first housing, and a first induction coil within the first housing. The induction cooking system also includes a second shell coupled to the first shell, the second shell including a second housing, a second plate coupled to the second housing, and a second induction coil within the second housing. The induction cooking system further includes a first temperature sensor for sensing a first plate temperature, a second temperature sensor for sensing a second plate temperature, and a controller. The controller is configured to receive the first plate temperature, receive the second plate temperature, adjust a first current supply to the first induction coil based on the first plate temperature, and adjust a second current supply to the second induction coil based on the second plate temperature.
