A transport mechanism for transporting photographic media along a processing path. The mechanism includes a roller assembly having a pair of space support roller assemblies disposed along a common shaft. Each pair of roller assemblies having a support roller having an outer engaging surface. A spring is provided for biasing the contact surface toward the edge of the media and a retaining member for restraining movement of each of the roller assemblies on the shaft.

Abstract:
A belt driven rack and tank processor includes a belt for driving photosensitive material through a relatively thin processing channel formed by the rack and tank of the processor. The belt travels around a core that displaces fluid within the apparatus so as to provide for a low volume processor. The processor further includes spring loaded engaging rollers which facilitate the conveyance of cut sheets through the processor.
A coating apparatus for applying a coating on to a photographic media. The apparatus includes a coating section for applying a coating on to a photosensitive media having an entrance and an exit. A first supply assembly is provided for supplying a first media of a first format adjacent the entrance. A retractable second retractable supply assembly and a retractable taking-up assembly is provided for supplying and taking up a second media of a second format, the second format being different from the first format.
Apparatus And Method For Drying Photosensitive Material Using A Radiant Heat Assembly
A drying apparatus and method utilizes the combination of radiant heat and air to quickly dry photosensitive material. The arrangement of the drying apparatus is such that radiant heat said assembly including a heating bar and a reflective cover positioned on one side of said conveying path, and a reflective member disposed on the other side of said conveying path, said reflective cover and said reflective member reflecting the heat from said heating bar toward said conveying path.

International Classification:
G03D 1300
US Classification:
396567, 396578, 396626, 396617
Abstract:
The present invention provides for a processor or processing arrangement which includes a replenishment system that meters or dispenses an amount of replenishment solution in direct relation to an amount of photosensitive media that passes through the processor or processing arrangement. The replenishment system includes a dispensing chamber and a cam roller that is operationally associated with a conveying roller. The cam roller engages a valve on the dispensing chamber. When the valve is moved to an open position in relation to a rotation of the cam roller, an amount of processing solution is metered out of the chamber in an amount related to the amount of rotation of the conveying roller.
Coating Apparatus Having A Cascade Wall And Metering Blade, And A Cleaning And Recirculation Arrangement For The Coating Apparatus
An apparatus and method for applying at least one solution of a predetermined viscosity to photosensitive material. The apparatus includes at least an application roller that applies the coating solution onto the photosensitive material. The application roller partially extends into a solution tray of the coating apparatus and is partially submerged in solution in the solution tray. In an arrangement of the present invention, a cascade wall and metering blade are positioned within the solution tray so as to define a first section at which solution enters the tray, and a second section which receives solution that spills over from the first section and includes a port which leads coating solution back to a coating solution tank for recycling or leads cleaning solution to drain. The apparatus further includes a washing arrangement that washes the coating apparatus in an efficient manner. The washing arrangement includes a retractable scrubber bar arrangement that moves away from the application roller when the coating apparatus is in a coating mode of operation and is movable toward the application roller by way of brushes in a cleaning mode of operation.
Coating Apparatus Having A Coating, Recirculation And Cleaning Arrangement
An apparatus and method for applying at least one coating solution of a predetermined viscosity to a photosensitive material. The apparatus includes at least an application roller which is adapted to apply the coating solution onto the photosensitive material. A solution supply guide is positioned relative to the application roller to supply coating solution onto the application roller. The apparatus and method further includes a washing arrangement for washing the coating apparatus in an efficient manner. The washing arrangement includes a movable scrubber bar arrangement which retracts away from the application roller when the coating apparatus is in a coating mode of operation, and is movable to contact the application roller by way of brushes in a cleaning mode of operation. The apparatus and method further includes a recirculation system which alternatively supplies coating solution to the supply guide and cleaning solution to at least the washing arrangement.
