Abstract:
Particular combinations of two or more C. sub. 12 -C. sub. 22 fatty acid esters of C. sub. 2 -C. sub. 12 polyhydroxy compounds with C. sub. 2 -C. sub. 12 alcohol and a masking agent provide lubricants for aqueous well fluids having synergistic lubricity and cake conditioning properties in reducing torque and sticking in wells for natural resource fuel and/or mineral materials.
The use of a water external micellar dispersion as a drilling fluid for rotary and horizontal drilling operations wherein the drilling fluid contains more than 50% oil in the internal phase, improved high temperature stability, high yield points, low gel strengths, and ultra low fluid loss.
Fluids for drilling, completing or servicing wells are treated for the removal or inactivation of hydrogen sulfide contamination by the addition of at least one organic zinc chelate.

Abstract:
A method of stimulating production from an oil or gas well comprising the steps of (a) injecting a desiccant through the well bore to dehydrate the well bore and a production zone within several feet around the well bore, (b) injecting an anhydrous acid into the production strata, the anhydrous acid being formulated to be gaseous at bottom hole temperature and pressure so that the gaseous anhydrous acid permeates through the dehydrated production strata and dissolves in connate water to form an acidic solution, and (c) shutting in the well for a period to allow the acidic solution formed in situ to react with the materials of the formation thereby increasing the permeability of the production strata and stimulating production from the well. A alcohol/polyglycol desiccant with exceptional lubricating, heat stability, and corrosion inhibiting characteristics is used to dehydrate the well and to form a corrosion resistant film on surfaces of the production string and casing.
The friction created by rotating and reciprocating a drill pipe in a well penetrating a subterranean formation is reduced by including an ester of an oxazolidine derivative in an aqueous drilling fluid or a mixture of said ester and certain alcohols. This ester of an oxazolidine derivative is represented by the following general formula: ##STR1## wherein n is a whole integer within the range of about 5 to 20.
