Abstract:
A ramp apparatus and method for insertion of a four-wheel vehicle into a plastic flood protection car bag which comprises a ramp device having a pair of up-ramp surfaces, a pair of top surfaces and a pair of down-ramp surfaces, and car bag securements on the top surfaces for holding an open edge of the car bag while the four-wheel vehicle is rolled on the up- and down-ramp surfaces and into the car bag.

Abstract:
A motor vehicle flood protection apparatus includes a plastic container member having a bottom panel and integrally joined end, and side panels that have edges joined to form a vehicle container. The end and side panels have a vertical height that is less than the height of a vehicle to be flood protected but well above the float level for the motor vehicle and of sufficient height that, when surrounded by flood waters, the container floats with the vehicle carried therein. A pair of reinforcement strips joined to the bottom panel resists puncture of the plastic container member. One or more flap members are joined to the side of the container and a plurality of grommets are provided in the one or more flap members. A tether line for securing the plastic container member (with a vehicle thereon) to a stationary object that can be coupled to the grommets on the flaps.

Abstract:
A vehicle flood flotation raft is comprised of a bottom panel member, a top panel member hermetically joined to the bottom panel member to form a hermetically sealed air chamber and an air valve is used for filling the air chamber with air. The top panel member has an exterior surface which is adapted to protect the upper surface from penetration by the undercarriage portions of the vehicle. The raft has a geometry such that it can be positioned around the driven wheels of the vehicle so that the driven wheels can be used to propel the flood rescue raft and vehicle thereon to safety. The flood flotation raft can also include inflatable side panel members at the sides of the top and bottom panel members, front and rear inflatable flap members secured to the bottom panel member, and a discrete flotation ballast can be attached to the vehicle flotation raft at the engine end thereof.

Abstract:
A motor vehicle flood protection apparatus and method includes a lower plastic container or cover member having a rectangular bottom panel and integrally joined end, and side panels that have lateral edges joined to form a leak proof vehicle container or bag. The end and side panels have a vertical height that is less than the height of a vehicle to be flood protected but well above the float level for the vehicle type and of sufficient height that, when surrounded by flood waters, the container floats with the vehicle carried therein. The upper edges of the side and end panels have elastic and/or drawstring snugging devices to snug the upper edges against the vehicle. A top cover member is fitted over the upper edges of the bottom cover in a way so as to shed rain water and/or splashing floor waters. A tether or anchor device secures the lower plastic container member to a stationary object.

Abstract:
A vehicle protective enclosure comprises a flexible plastic envelope having a side portion containing a sealable side opening. The sealable side opening is sized to permit total entry of a vehicle into the envelope. The invention includes a device for hermetically sealing the side opening to prevent the egress of air after a vehicle has been placed in the flexible plastic envelope. For protection in flood conditions, the envelope is anchored or tethered to stationary objects, and preferably two or more ends are anchored or tethered.
