Abstract:

A module housing is adapted to be inserted into an operating position in the trigger group receiving area of a firearm. The module housing includes at least one pin receiver defined by two openings formed in the module housing, one on each lateral side of the housing. A module or temporary pin is received in the pin receiver and at least one trigger group component is mounted or supported for rotation on the module pin. The pin receiver is located on the module housing so as to align with a pin receptacle of the firearm when the module housing is in the operating position. By locating the pin receiver in the module housing so as to align with a corresponding pin receptacle of the firearm when the module housing is in the operating position, the trigger group module and the trigger group components housed in the module housing may be readily supported by the OEM pin receptacle. The trigger group module, pre-assembled with one or more trigger group components, may be inserted to the operating position and then held in place using the OEM pin receptacle.

Abstract:

A locking apparatus is adapted for locking a firearm or the like received in a holster, so that the firearm may not move appreciably while received in the holster and so that the firearm may be quickly withdrawn. The locking apparatus is particularly useful with speed holsters which provide minimal support for the weapon received therein. The preferred locking apparatus includes an activating member connected to a locking member. A suitable clamp or base member connects the activating and locking members to an inside surface of the holster. The locking apparatus is adapted to be positioned in an unlocked position in which the activating member extends generally transversely into the holster in position to be contacted as a firearm is inserted, and in which the locking member is retracted so as to lie generally adjacent an inner surface of the holster. Further, the locking apparatus is adapted to be moved to a locked position as a firearm is inserted into the holster, with the activating member displaced downwardly and the locking member extended into the holster so as to contact the firearm and retain it securely against a portion of the holster.

Abstract:

A magazine for use in a firearm includes first and second feed lips having folded portions to reinforce the strength of the respective feed lips. In some embodiments, the strength of the feed lips may be further reinforced by applying one or more welds. The feed lips are capable of withstanding greater amounts of force to avoid failure. Accordingly, the disclosed magazine and method for providing the magazine reduce the “spring back” effect present in conventional magazine feed lips. This removes the additional step of having to over-form the feed lips that is performed when forming a magazine having conventional feed lips. The result is a method for providing a magazine with folded feed lips that are capable of withstanding greater amounts of force to avoid warping, deforming, or other failure, wherein the method for forming the magazine is more accurate, more consistent, and involves fewer steps.

A magazine for use in a firearm includes a housing defining an interior portion for housing one or more cartridges. A first feed lip is coupled to a first side of the housing and is operable to retain the one or more cartridges. The first feed lip includes a first arcuate portion extending from the housing and toward a centerline of the housing, and a second arcuate portion extending from the first arcuate portion and back toward the first side of the housing. A second feed lip is coupled to a second side of the housing and is operable to retain the one or more cartridges.
