Occlusion devices and methods for occluding fallopian tubes which take effect promptly after deployment. The occlusion means comprise an occluding element and a fixation element. In one example, a lid configured for use with a container includes an upper surface that is generally circular in shape, and further includes a side wall with an annular configuration, the side wall intersecting the upper surface to define an edge of the lid. A grip element is defined in the upper surface and sized and configured to be grasped by one or more fingers of a user, and the grip element includes a grip portion that is set back a distance from the edge of the lid.
